No need to apologize. We humans need our sleep, do we not?

Unnecessary apologies aside, I do believe this is where we find ourselves at an impasse. You see, I do not appreciate when anyone sticks their nose in my business when that someone has taken me from a very dangerous situation where lives are at stake. Therefore, any information you have on me is entirely too much, while I know far too little about you. The playing field is far from even.

I suppose it cannot be helped, however. No use in crying over spilled tea, hm? I say this with sincerity: As much as I dislike this situation, whatever your goal here is, you've done what is necessary to reach it, which is only natural when that goal encompasses who you are and what your heart's desire is.

Loathe as I am to admit it, I can relate.

And that is why that was the perfect time to bring you here.

I don't expect you or any of the other students to understand, but as this course does require people to experience each other's pain, it'd be a waste if at least some of you didn't have an abundance of it to share, no?

Humor me, will you? What is it that you think my heart's desire is, exactly?

[ Wow! This is the worst! He's actually really angry now. Being exploited like this... Gentaro isn't so arrogant to think he's the only one who has an abundance of pain to share, because the world is cruel. His is, and he's confident in his assumption that others are, too. ]

I won't offend you by assuming you are unaware that your question is far too broad to be productive. I do not know you; therefore, I cannot begin to guess.

After all, humans are fickle, selfish beings. One person may desire to bring a loved one back. Another may wish with their entire being for a kinder world without conflict, while another may want endless wealth, whether to change the world or use for their own nefarious means.

Perhaps someone else may want for fame, but no matter how hard they work, they never find success. It may even be as simple as a child praying for ice cream every day for the rest of their life.

Yet, all of these wishes have their darker sides. I assume I do not have to tell you this. It is curious, however. What sort of wish do you hold in your heart that, in spite of the risks and possible consequences, you still strive toward? What desire do you yearn for so desperately that you would involve strangers with desires and hopes of their own and loved ones waiting for them?

I do not expect you to answer that. Rather, I look forward to finding the answer for myself. I hope you will be amenable to my efforts, Lorelei-san. I do not intend to underperform.
